you’ll spend a minimum of a grand on a good used ******. then you need a different drive shaft, cross member, linkage, wiring harness, computer, and that doesn’t cover it all then you have labor at around 80 bucks an hour if you can find someone willing to do it. So this could easily cost you 4 or 5,000. And most likely with the standard ****** you 1/4 or 1/8 miles times will be slower. Spend your money on upgrading your automatic and possible different gears for the rear end and your car will be faster.
It all depends on the size of motor, the brand of ****** you want. I would say about 6,500-8,000. For a good racing one i would go toward the 8,000. It would probably take one whole day for a good mechanic to change it for you. I personally would buy a used transmission with low miles and shop around at diffrent dealers/mechanics.
